Simple Steps to Help You Become a Vegetarian
Written by India Mace on March 23rd, 2010To be healthy and become a vegetarian, do you think you have to give up all the foods you grew up with and love?
Well, you are in for a pleasant surprise! You are about to find that eating vegetarian can be more delicious than you thought possible.
Though anything new can seem a bit intimidating at first, take one step at a time in order not to be overwhelmed.
I love exploring new recipes so much now, I would never go back to my old SAD (Standard American Diet).
Here are 3 ways that will help. Then we’ll go over a simple meal plan to round it out.
1. Think of 3 vegetarian meals you already enjoy or may find easy to convert over to. Common ones may be a veggie pizza, pasta dish or stirfry.
2. Find 3 vegetarian recipes online to experiment with. There are many websites with vegetarian recipes to help make the switch easily.

These steps will give 9 different choices to begin with.
Some people think that breakfast is the hardest meal to convert to a vegetarian diet. I mean, really, how do we substitute eggs and bacon (if you so happen to be that kind of breakfast eater). It’s simple, just have a natural muffin or a healthy cold or hot cereal and some fruit. How about a fruit smoothie?
Now, let’s take a look at a typical vegetarian meal plan:
Breakfast: Fruit Smoothie Muffin Nuts
Lunch - “Tuna” Sandwich (substitute tuna made at home tastes great!) Green Salad
Snack - Fruit Salad Nuts
Dinner: Italian “Sausage” with saute’ onions and green peppers (substitute sausage is delicious!) Pasta Green Salad
Desert: Peanut Butter Bar
